Jane thinks the Iliad Intensive would suit some of the math PhDs she studies with. She creates her invite link and forwards it to 8 people. 5 apply; 3 are accepted to the Intensive and 1 to the Fellowship. That's 3 × $500 + $1,500 = $3,000. Later, one of her Intensive referees continues to the Fellowship — Jane receives the $1,000 difference, for $4,000 total.

Who are we looking for?
Our programs are built for mathematically strong people: think math, physics, and theoretical computer science backgrounds — graduate students, postdocs, and exceptional undergraduates — who want to work on the hardest technical problems in AI alignment. If someone you know proves things for fun, we'd love to hear from them.

The small print. Referral bonuses are subject to eligibility: you must be a legal adult without a conflict of interest (board members, employees, funders, anyone who influences admissions, and family members of these groups are not eligible), and local rules must permit you to receive contractor-style income. We collect tax documentation (W-9 / W-8BEN) before paying out. Only the first referrer of record is eligible per applicant, and self-referrals don't qualify. Referring does not create an employment relationship with Iliad. We may adjust or end the program at any time.
