Fellowship Director

Location: London, UK or Berkeley, CA

Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000–$100,000, depending on experience and location.

About the Role

As Fellowship Director, you’ll oversee the Iliad Fellowship end-to-end. This includes:

• Owning the logistics of the fellowship—from application and selection to alumni follow-up

• Serving as research manager to the fellows, supporting their research directions, progress, and development throughout the program

• Coordinating and managing other members of the fellowship team

• Maintaining a high bar for fellow experience and program quality, and continuously improving both

• Acting as the main point of contact between fellows, Iliad leadership, and external collaborators

What We’re Looking For

• Significant experience in program management, operations, or a related leadership role

• Research background in AI alignment, math, or physical sciences

• Proven ability to manage and develop people, including researchers or technical staff

• Excellent organizational skills and comfort with end-to-end operational ownership

• Comfort working with distributed teams and working remotely

• Ability and willingness to travel frequently to events in the US and UK

• Understanding of the AI alignment landscape and interest in theoretical AI alignment
