Request for Proposals
We're soliciting proposals in two directions we consider especially promising: projects that raise the epistemic bar of the field, and theory-driven research on ReLU networks. Mathematicians especially welcome.
Iliad is seeking proposals for new incubated research organizations in two directions it considers especially promising.
ReLU networks: mathematically grounded work connecting theory with empirical observables, including research on loss-landscape geometry, singularities, fibers, learning coefficients and simplicity bias.
Raising the epistemic bar of AI safety: projects such as red teaming seminal results, adversarial collaborations, critical literature reviews, replication efforts and mechanisms for rigorous critical review.
Iliad particularly welcomes mathematically sophisticated teams and projects with explicit methodological justification.
