Operations Generalist (Bay Area)
Provide operations support across Iliad's initiatives, from internal and external communications to program logistics, process improvement and stakeholder outreach.
About Iliad
Iliad is a nonprofit dedicated to advancing foundational AI alignment research. We run the Iliad Intensive, the Iliad Fellowship, and a range of conferences that bring together researchers working on the hardest problems in AI safety. We also incubate research organizations and an academic journal, and have an internal research team. We're a small and quickly growing team.
About the Role
As Operations Generalist, you'll be responsible for providing operations support to Iliad's initiatives, including:
Managing internal and external communications
Coordinating program logistics including applications, participants, onboarding, vendor relationships, and onsite operations
Improving and automating operational processes and maintaining internal documentation
Supporting outreach efforts and coordinating with researchers, program participants, and other stakeholders
This is a great chance to contribute to AI alignment on the theory and fieldbuilding side in an operations role. Iliad has scaled from 4 to 30 employees in 6 months; help steer our exponential growth and make the most of crunch time.
What We're Looking For
Prior experience in an operations or administrative role (broadly defined; internships and academic experience welcome)
Located in, or willing to move to, Berkeley or San Francisco
Able and willing to travel between Berkeley and San Francisco frequently, as needed
Organized and able to take ownership of underdefined tasks in a startup environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Interest in and context on AI alignment is a major plus but is not strictly required
